Tekken is only for 360? What is this world coming to?

Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:22 AM | Unregistered CommenterFuck WCG

^^^yeah I know fuck 360. I just hope we dont have those horrible announcers for this tourney again. They need to be smart and reach out to the community for commentators like Markman and Filthie Rich!

YO I don't own a 360 and neither do the people I play with this is bullshit that they are only holding tekken on 360

Monday, April 18, 2011 at 3:25 PM | Unregistered CommenterLinux_TheFallen

It's a Microsoft sponsored event. And it's not like they're forcing you to use a 360 pad. I'm sure GM and everyone else used a converter with their Dual Shock.

Who cares if it's on 360 or PS3, it's good for the scene.

And don't forget, Fuck Aris! Here's to TTT2 for MLG2012 season and beyond!! j/k I still love you man, but if MLG do bring back Tekken in the future, I'll welcome it with open arms. It's not like WCG don't have censorship or corporate disposition in their events either.

It does matter if its on PS3 or 360 u idiot. Tekken started on Sony and as far as playing Tekken from a competetive stand point PS3 is better. And fuck MLG for not showing the Tekken community any respect. Alot of hard work was obviously put into MLG by Filthie Rich and others so for MLG dropping Tekken, thats pretty retarted.

@INFAMOUSMINDED

Out of all the games at MLG, Tekken was the only game that could never fill up the available brackets completely. So if anything, blame the the majority of Tekken community for not taking advantage of FilthieRich's hard work. (Hopefully the drive returns with TTT2) If WCG was an exclusive event for North America, they too would have dropped Tekken, but because WCG includes Korea and Japan, they still get solid participation.

And are you a Tekken fan, or a Sony fan? Tekken never started with Sony, it started in the arcades. Tekken 6 runs exactly the same on 360 as it does on PS3, so your argument about keeping Tekken competitive if its on PS3 is invalid.

Glad WCG has Tekken on the roster -

@ AAK - sup bro, just from a purely PadPlayer pov - PS3 is the better console because our pads and convertors won't lag on the PS3 as they are direct inputs and we can't use Xbox contys to ensure that things play out smoothly on the Xbox. (They haz bad D-Pad as you probs know ^_^)
I bought the XFire convertors and the Sniper PS2 Pad Convertor for PS to 360 and these things do unfortunately lag.
Not to say that's important in the grand scheme of things - but if definitely has shifted my group and myelf to only play the game on PS3 because we have some pad players in our midsts.

Other than that, yeah there shouldn't be any differences in the running of the game. I don't think the PS3 being more powerful than the 360 would cause much difference.

Perhaps newer convertors have been released though that fix the issues of input lag between the games... I never made it that far to follow up after the latter failed unfortunately.

1 thing is for damn sure though - r e s p e c t Filthie Fuckin Rich!

360 only blows, there goes alot...(not alot) most good competition for this fucking thing. Oh well that sucks for them, the top 16 will be full of scrubs. BTW fuck MLG!! Aris and Filthie fuckin' rule!! Keep it up!

Sup FoxSteve, it's true some of them do lag. Try this one:

@ AKK - thanks - cool vid, that little 'all in one thingy' looks pretty useful. I'll do some more research into this. If this convertor does work and there really is no input lag, we're talking about a little miracle that could potentially bridge the pad community between box and ps up. nice find.

good ps2 to 360 converter:

@AAK appreciate the converter vid I will look into it but now I have to find a 360 with Xbox live dammit if they just ran it on both consoles this wouldn't such an inconvenience

What's with all the PS3/360 QQs? It's not like it makes a difference to the end result.. The bad, sorry, 'pad' players will get smashed by the stick players anyway. ; )

I also have that eTokki sold adapter, but I can't vouch for it since I haven't tested it yet, which is kind of funny since where I live the vast majority of fighting game tourneys are played on the Xbox, which I think really sucks because the majority of Tekken players I know, including myself, have a PS3 :-) The Xbox is mainly used here because Microsoft sponsors the events. Sony hasn't sponsored a tourney here in a very long time, not once in the PS3 era. I don't know what the deal is with that, but until' they start doing it, It's Xbox here indefinetly, which means I won't be bothering to enter tournaments. They're pretty low level anyway.

But about the eTokki adapter, It _apparently_ only works with PS2 stuff, which sucks because I play with a PS1 DualShock pad. But again, can't vouch for it since I haven't tested it. Another downside is that it requires a wired Xbox 360 pad to work, wireless' doesn't work, and this is the main reason I haven't got around to use mine. What I DO know for certain that it doesn't lag, I've heard this from several users.
