#1 !!!

i was at evo and i am naming justframejames as the people's champ. when ppl were hating on tekken and sick of the bobs/laws (but moreso the bobs) during the finals, justframejames gives tekken a bit of dignity and "fun" by picking other characters to chill the audience, lessen the tekken hate and let them see a brighter side to tekken. a perfect example of how a player can make decisions for tekken and/or the tekken community as a whole (the greater picture if you will) instead of just going for the win. his actions were bigger than him. much respect and new fan.

the how to beat law section was a complete /facepalm for me. This fucker better be getting hit with the nerf bat hard in tag 2. As for bob, Just remove him from the game...

I totally agree with Devil Kazuya. Law is too overpowered. Bob is fat and ugly and cheap and fat and ugly! Did I mention he is fat and ugly?

Tekken has already too many characters. As a newcomer (I started with Tekken 6 -never played before) it is nearly impossible to learn this game properly bacause of too many characters with 150+ moves each and all the intricasies in the game. It's more of a chore to learn all the frikin strings and openings and grabs and animations of all kinds of moves.. Tekken is too darn difficult for newcomers -no wonder it is dying compared to easy 2D fighters with 30 characters and 20+ moves each. You have actually a chance to learn those games properly and start using strategy instead of getting overwhelmed by the moves and the game-mechanics like you do with Tekken.

Then you have these impossible characters like Law and Steve. Bob is just fat and ugly and cheap!

Law is not overpowered. But top tier. every game has its top tier characters. no going away from that. But this Tekken 6 is so well balanced. This last EVO is the only tekken major i hear people cry about. i guess the steve that won last years easily wasnt as much as a big deal. cause steve been perfectly balanced in every tekken he was in........

Over powered idk...Bob and Law are good characters, but it seems like everyone call on characters op most of the time.

Evo tekken was hella boring but i cant complain and many people shouldnt because we have to train ourselves to bit that bob and law,its been too long since they stood up as heavy tournament winning characters. And if people wanna see something more fun and more variety...they should make their characters stronger. Off course...im going to train hardcore and try to bit them as well :) next evo(hopefully tekken 6 is alive still)

p.s In TC, i always see people bitching about op characters...who did really well on Tekken Crash(such as brian, lars, julia etcs) and characters that people bitch about changes every single time...
Actually im curious that how come no one in Tekken Crash did really well (like 3rd,2nd,1st) with Bob...i guess his no op

anyways...great guide for Law and JFJ is also my favorite :)
and i will bit him one day! (hopefully).......how come i always get to play JFJ all the time, i wanna be on the stream :(

No character is overpowered. Lol, BronsonTran beat Mr. Naps in a FT10 10-6 IIRC and it was Yoshimitsu vs. Bryan. That alone should tell you how balanced Tekken is.

As for the number of characters, as far as I'm concerned, bring in more, as long as it remains balanced. The more variety, the better.
And yes, Law is getting Nerfed in TTT2, but no-one knows by how much.

Everyone and anything is beatable in Tekken. Learn it.

Devil Ganryu just started playing Tekken (Tekken 6), so it's no wonder he feels overwhelmed. If you think Tekken is too hard to get into, then you are probably not learning the correct basics. This seems to be the biggest problem with people that play Tekken as new comers, especially people that favor 2D fighrting games.

While in 2D fighting games offense is anywhere from 70-90% of the gameplay, in Tekken you advance with a good offense/defense balance. If you cannot break throws, get caught constantly by 20-30 frame lows, do not launch punish unsafe moves, and do not know how to reset combos or wake up properly, then you have no place in judging how "unfair" Tekken is. These are tools that 2D fighting games just don't offer people in that most moves are less than 10 frames anyway (which is definitely unseeable). You break throws on guessing, which is still unreliable, and the execution is either insane to pull off (SSFIV) or insanely easy and overpowering (MvC3 X Factor 100% combos). Not that I do not like 2D fighting games, but they are incomparable to Tekken in that aspect, and saying Tekken is unfair because of character numbers shows lack of knowledge pertaining to the game. Tekken is by far the fairest game out right now, every character in the game has a low parry, frame data is readily available for the game, and the defense options and things you can counter on reaction far outnumber any 2D fighting game.

It's probably just a mindset that people have to change or improper playstyle of a character.

As far as Bob and Law, both characters are beatable. It just so happened that Evo was in their favor along with good, skilled participants. FightingGM uses Lee and if I am not mistaken he has the best track record for majors this season. Anakin uses Jack, and he is one of the best players in the country, Prodigal Son is a Mishima player and he made a huge presence in Evo, and the first person in the world to achieve Tekken Lord rank was a Japanese Zafina player. People just need to step their game up, that's all. Learn the game entirely. This is not Street Fighter.

You guys are complaining about Bob and Law??? LOL, give AE a try and see how fucked up Yun is. That is what S-tier is all about.

Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11:21 AM | Unregistered CommenterRoldie

yea dude thats why we see the Yun's and Yang's losing in top 8, DAIGO losing with Yang says allot but i agree they are op. And Bryan isnt even that good in practise, only when put in the right hands and then you have Bob, Lars and Law who any top player can pick up and do good place top 8

People calling Law overpowered need to turn on Marvel and try beating Dark Phoenix. Then maybe they'll learn what the term actually means.
