Hmmm... Nina is best in game?? I thought both Nina and Bruce were nerfed...

Lili is A tier?? Shouldn't Leo be higher?? Why is Armor King A+..??

Seems random....

interesting he thinks miguel kinda sucks.

nina is obviously very good as she has ridiculous damage output/wall carry and works very well with the tag mechanics. bruce also has among the highest damage output/wall carry and can combo off certain tag launchers/stuns other characters can't to take more red life.

also remember only the a+ tier is said to be in order, not the a tier.

I agree with the list for the most part. only thing i dont understand is why Kazuya is the highest ranking Mashima. also, i think Heihachi is the best character overall.

@DrBhup - everything seems random to the ignorant.

Why 2 A tiers?

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 10:54 AM | Unregistered CommenterForest

56 characters in that list

33 of them at A or above

26 at A- or below

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11:10 AM | Unregistered Commenterwho

@forest:
Theres an "A" and an "A minus" tier

Probably becouse he thinks the gap between those tiers in so small.

Anyways Im curious why he's not putting lee and violet in the same tier, as they have only like 2 different moves, which still serve the same purpose.

Violet cossacks make a difference I guess

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 1:20 PM | Unregistered Commenterbagheera

That list is even worse than the ones Kane used to post, jesus. I mean they are obviously making different experiences than we do, but still, how can it be this far off?
Heihachi OBVIOUSLY is the best mishima, this cant even be argued.
Nina is good but DEFINATLY below all mishimas.
Bruce also is not that good, not on par with mishimas.
Also even tho I love drag, he looks hella misplaced between all those actual top tiers.
Jin is placed way too high. He still has so many glaring issues that theres no way he is top tier.
Feng should be higher, he is way too versatile and his only weakness, damage, got fixed with the tag system.
I dont have to explain why leo should be placed way higher, self-explanatory.
Not too sure about jinpachi yet, but a 14f launcher than one can be input with your dick should be worth something. Also insane dmg. Seems underrated to me.
Kunimitsu is insanely good on paper. Yes, no one known plays her, but when it comes to theorycrafting, she is top 8 easily.
Ogre is placed too low, definatly. Strongest wallcombos/damage in the game, unseeable throws and highest jab range in the game.

Well, thats just my opinion, dont take offense in me thinking that this tierlist is a joke :P

Anytime a single person tries to do an evaluation of 60 characters (with 60x60 combinations as a team) you can expect a huge discrepancy as to a bigger population, say 10 top korean players. Yes even from help me - he's biased from the competition he faces just as the rest of us. Bruce was needed to win against Saint at MLG playing switcharoo so he's obviously great kappa.

Personally, I agree that Kaz is the best Mishima. Obvious reason #1 is better punishment, albeit less damage than what DJ and Hei can pull off from EWGF. I think the main kicker is the fact that HS,1 can give you a juggle near a wall stage. His mixup close to the wall with hellsweep is actually worth the risk.

I think that DJ is better than Hei, personally, but it's just because of DJ's d/b+2. Less damage than Hei's but +5 on hit and only -12 on hit is very much a difference maker. If Angel had anything remotely similar to this, she'd be higher on the tier list.

What I don't get is why the Devil form makes such a difference. I know it increases combo damage output by finishing with unblockable laser, but Devil form takes away CH wakeup 3 combos and the ff+2 you get in return sucks. I've never used DK's SS+2 either, but I could understand the uses. I don't like only having TP off d/f+1 too. Solo Kaz wall carry combos usually end with d/f+1f+2 to push to the wall which usually gives you a DEWGF into d+4 or 1+2.

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:55 PM | Unregistered CommenterGandido

Gandido so you believe Kazuya is more of a threat than Heihachi near a wall???

Interesting with TA rank etc and can't wait to hear the reasoning behind lots of things in the list.

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 4:50 PM | Unregistered CommenterReality

Reality: Yes, if only due to HS,1 being able to produce a full wall combo. d/b+4 still gives enough frames to be annoying (+3) and while you can't get hit with a CH d/f+2 afterwards, you could 'get lucky' and try to 1+2. 12f mid and gives you a guaranteed combo near the wall with d/b+2 b! into whatever TA crap you want. b+41 is a 15f mid that does a lot of damage that wall splats.Old school u/f+3 splat is still there.

These things aren't nearly as intimidating as Hei's d/f+1>2 near the wall, but the fact that HS1 can wall spat you sometimes... it's something to keep in check.

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 5:31 PM | Unregistered CommenterGandido

Devil kaz can still combo off CH wakeup 3

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 5:54 PM | Unregistered CommenterJeremiah

Jeremiah: What's the combo? Full combo into bounce and stuff?

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 6:03 PM | Unregistered CommenterGandido

@HaeKyun
WOW! thanks man. hope Aris updates the post.

Also, the Koreans thinks that Hei's buffed db+2 is actually bad for him, because it will lead to players ducking randomly more which will lead to more punishing against Hei. That might be why he has Hei ranked lower. Obviously they have a different way of thinking about this game, and this probably doesn't apply to a western style of playing since we do lots of random shit. it's interesting none the less.

All in all, this is a tier list and all tier lists are up to interpretation and differ from person to person. But i would say that Help Me is the most qualified person to make one for tekken.

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 6:11 PM | Unregistered Commenterjackoffbot

Gandido: CH wakeup 3, ff (cc), d/b+4, b+24, d/b+2, B! ...

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 10:32 PM | Unregistered CommenterRandom

I always said that the animal characters are too strong in tekken. They should be playable/joke characters people pick to have fun with then to actually compete with. Come on, the come in higher the the Great Ancient Ogre.
