TTT2: 2v2 Tournament from Arcade A-cho of Japan

I love it when an entire tournament is uploaded as one video. Enjoy. Big thanks to  for the upload and xyz for the tip.

4:08 and 4:40 rounds. This is why people hate Tekken now, all about juggle carry to wall and pressure. (still...)

TTT2 reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where Lisa makes a new "sophisticated" Malibu Stacy doll but is beaten by the old stupid model because a new hat was added.

Namco: Look guys we're sorry about T6BR but don't worry we have a new better game in every way! (when really all they've done is add a new hat aka. the tag system).

I do like the costumes though! :)

Why would they want to change the formula? Tekken 6 br was the number 1 fighting game WORLD WIDE for like 2 years in everywhere except america. And other fighting games if they don't become a juggle fest they become a combo fest with like 20~60 hit combos lol. I've seen countless tekken matches where a person just gets poked to death. You don't know what your talking about.

I don't think you play tekken in tournaments at all if you think it's just about
Juggling and wall carries. You have to get to thar part of the game first. Getting
To the launching wall carries ect takes spacing, stepping, frame knowledge and reading
You opponent also baiting them into whiffing that leads to a combo. Two solid players
Can go an entire match without getting juggled but if you give them a chance then yes
You want to get as much damage as possible from the opening you have and if a wall is there
Then thats more damage.
If you dont like tekken then fine but don't just generalize the game based off of one aspect of it, that
Can go for any fighting game if you want to be that narrow about it.

At least you've done your homework. But just because a game sells well doesn't mean 1: It's any good, and 2: It's actually popular. I don't know if you've ever been to a SSFIV session but I think you'll find about 10 times as many people as would be at a Tekken one. Also at least with a combo fest there is no stupid wall carry to a pure guessing game at the wall.

And finally, of course I realise one can win with pokes. But come on....let's be serious here. You always throw out your safe mid launcher from time to time because you know you only need one to win. Or you chance a hopkick because the risk reward is so in your favour. A noob can still beat anyone in a fluke.

@ Ana

I don't really care if you believe me but I have won offline tournaments with Asuka before, and of course I know there is a lot to the game.

You make a good argument for the game, no one is denying that Tekken requires a lot of knowledge to obtain victory at a consistant level. However the main reason you research this is to take advantage of openings, and in possibly every situation like this you do that by launching the opponent. SS jab, wiff punish etc. And you do this because you know that one juggle handled correctly is all you need to win a match.

A poke is good and all, a throw MIGHT do something. But really what you need to win a match is a juggle starter. My particular gripe with the game is that it's still the most worthwhile thing to seek out in a match.

well almost all fighting games need just ONE opening to take maximum damage out of an opponent. at least with tekken, there is no such thing as infinite combos, or supers that will eat out a lot from you HP,

Street Fighter is more popular in western countries because of one reason: CONSOLES. Tekken is made for arcades, which is why tekken.net was developed to be used for other countries

Anyway, a person who haven't played TTTU2 has no right to complain about it

And if you think that kazuya's CH d/f+2,3,1,4,d/b+2 TA (HEI Hellsweep to TGF) W! WGF,d/f 3,1,2 is a wall carry that needs to be complained about, then you really are a NOOB

Hey you Moran are you enjoying that view?.... From the conclusion you just jumped to? >:(

I never said that the wall carry combos in those videos were overpowered. I just said that it has become the domineering force of intrest in Tekken. 99% of the time you'd be unwise not to force someone into a corner. Post oki setups are not as rewarding or useful.

"4:08 and 4:40 rounds. This is why people hate Tekken now, all about juggle carry to wall and pressure. (still...)"

Hello "Moran" this is what I was talking about, in fact I never mentioned anything about being overpowered, "maximum possible damage" is the right word Mr. I-won-a tournament-using-Asuka.

Again the main point is: dont complain about TTT2U because I'm 100% sure you havent played the game yet.

And if you have been playing fighting games, not just tekken, then you will know that most of the time, forcing your opponent to a corner is a classic tactic that exist in most fighting games, im not sure if you know that yet.. So it makes me wonder exactly how legit that tournamnt you won. could be a tournament in your dream for all I care.

Come to think of it, I never really contradicted your post. I just think you are a noob who won a tournament because of asuka's lucky B+3

Yeah in every fighting game you try to force someone into a corner one way or another. But in Tekken it's way too easy to do because of the "superiority" of the juggle system. Nearly every parry or combo will leave you with a wall splat combo in a walled stage (into nasty nasty mix ups), that's why the stages are bigger in TTT2! So you can't deny that people see this as a problem YES!?????

But it's still looking not so different :( In fact the best addition to TTT2 is the "super" (if you like) addition were you can safe tag in. At least that lessens the problem at the wall.

Yeah you didn't really contradict my post, but you were really insulting. I've spent years getting good at this game and your spouting out the word NOOB though the guise of online anonymity like a complete coward.

Yes CH d/f+2,3,1,4,d/b+2 TA (HEI Hellsweep to TGF) W! WGF,d/f 3,1,2 doesn't need to be complained about in the context of Tekken, but what it does to the game (due to easy wall pressure which follows) does need to be addressed in my opinion.

And I more abused d3+4 and 1+2, since it's safe on block :p Although I used Julia a lot too.

i for one love absolutely love the new system that tekken6 and ttt2 have incoporated , bound juggles more moves characters . Tekken now has more depth then it ever did .

i dont see whats wrong with the juggle system now its so creative and open , if you dont like it ( what happened to tekken ) then dont get launched simple .

to think back the days of TTT 1 gameplay were so boring to watch compared to tekken now
roll on console version TTT2

"What happened to Tekken". You are a fucking moron.

Tekken 6 was the biggest and most popular fighting game for years IN THE ARCADE. In Japan it far outshone SFIV. That statement has nothing to do with consoles. The capcom games are popular in the US but it doesn't reflect the rest of the world.

... and really, if you are complaining about Tekken you have no right to bring capcom games up at all which are filled with bullshit infinite's and horrible comeback gameplay mechanics. I don't honestly see a juggle combo which actually takes some execution skill being far to different from an ultra in Sfiv except you have to do less input's in that game.

If I was going to complain about something in tekken juggles and wall pressure would be far down my list. More annoying is the Hopkick game and aspects of the crush system which reward desperation and punish the aggressor with frame advantage, still it doesn't change it from being my favorite fighter.

So fuck off back to SRK or whatever hole you crawled out of. You have no place trolling here..

Monday, April 9, 2012 at 5:30 AM | Unregistered CommenterThe Devil kazuya

You are a very unpleasant individual devil kaz or whatever your name is.

1: Tekken does have a bullshit comeback mechanic, RAGE! Honestly have you ever even played this game? As I recall it's the first fighter ever to employ a comeback mechanic, so you have it to blame for all those supers you hate in SSFIV.

2: can you at least agree that Namco saw walls and pressure as one of the main problems in T6? Otherwise why would they make the stages bigger? You can't argue with this fact! >:(

Finally I never insulted anyone on this thread. But I have been insulted again and again to provoke anger, so how can you call me a troll? So you know what? FUCK YOU

Monday, April 9, 2012 at 9:10 AM | Unregistered CommenterWhat Happened to Tekken

first of all there is no rage in TTTU2 rage was present in T6 but not in TTT2

second, stages didnt get bigger, most walled stages are the same as T6 some stages are even smaller, like the balcony stage, etc. I dont think walls and pressure is a problem. walls and pressure is part of fighting game, hah even racing games use walls and pressure as part of the game

Monday, April 9, 2012 at 9:35 PM | Unregistered CommenterJeremiah

Yeah Maybe you're right :)

In truth I just think SCV is a more fun game for whatever reason.
