Soul Calibur 2 HD Release Date and Price Announced

@NamcoBandaiUK recently tweeted the release date for SC2 HD and it's coming on November 20th. It'll be priced at $20 in NA, £13.49 XBLA/£14.99 PSN in UK, and €18.99 in Europe. They released another trailer match pitting Mitsurugi and Maxi against each other. Check it out below.

I honestly think this game will have catastrophic sales. I have a hard time figuring out why casual players would buy this as opposed to SF4 etc or even a SCV at sale. I hope it doesn't effect the next SC game or plans to make it.

$20 is reasonable for those looking for a good fighting game, but I think players spoiled by cheap mobile apps and free games won't bite. Compare to other fighting games released as downloadable packages (Skullgirls, VF5FS, etc.)
Soul Calibur 5 is less than $15 used. So... yeah.
If this release was aimed at casual players with the intent on introducing them to Soul Calibur, it will probably miss that mark and only best serve those nostalgic for the old Soul Calibur in the game where the game was better than the soundtrack. Maybe everything went downhill when the games got high-fidelity orchestral music, somehow at the expense of the rest of the package.

I actually get a sense that casual players love this game and their wallets are ready.

I doubt casuals will enjoy this game, that's just how things go. I'm sure they will buy it for all the hype and then drop it in a week. Most likely this will happen because it's not like SC5 or SC3 which are most casuals first. I really love SC but man I worry for the future of this game series at this point.
Just like Tekken, older SC fans can tell others how much we loved SC2 but newer fans possibly won't grasp why as usual.

i live in europe and play on ps.

20 $ are 14,78 €.
14,99 £ are 17,71 €.

so just as a matter of principle, fuck you, i will not pay 18,99 €.

Step 1 of Namco's kill-SC plan while it's still selling moderately good.
I agreed that it would sell that well. Why would it do when Girl Fight don't sell well? The point is,
if the people are really into fighters, who cares if it's a girl fighting game or a sword fighting game.
What's the logic when many relatively modern fighters didn't raise the major attentions, but one thinks
that a dated series will get major sale? And as far as I see even with the HD buffs it still looks
pretty dated.
Step 2, nerf Lili and kill Tekken. I don't really understand what Namco is thinking about the
fighting games, maybe they don't really like the fighting games at all.

I don't see this game as being for the casual fan. Casual fans want Link and there's no Link in this game. Plus how many of them are really going to drop $20 on a 10 year old game?

This game is really for the hardcore fans and for those who are really nostalgic about SCII. The game that's really going to be for the casual fans is Lost Swords since it's single player and F2P.

I don't know why people are so worried about how this game is going to sell. It's not like they are building a new game from scratch and spending a ton of money on marketing and Snoop Dogg. Plus they're already working on other Soulcalibur projects. Just buy the game and have fun with it.

Yeah, like some have said. You can pick up SCV for 20 or less. Not sure what Namco was thinking? I'll still may end up getting this though.
