That picture is the best!

King a weird character who only works with some characters? I disagree, Aris. I was using Feng/King, then I switched to Lili/King, and I have also been using Steve/King. No reason why you wouldn't be able to use anyone with King. King has a great 1+2,3 TA! or b+1,4 is a spike for a good wall combo TA!. We all know iSW and GS are great combo enders for the open and for the wall. All you need is a move like Steve df+1+2 and then King iSW and you're golden for combos.

I think King is good at close range...he has b+1 for a CH launch, a good df+1, I think King's df+3 is really under-used, great poke. I use d+4 a lot too for a crushing low.

For whiff punishers I like f,f,uf+4 most of the time, but f,f+4, f+2+3, b+3, f+4, or uf+1+2 are all good too. I really like FC df+2~Tag too, but I almost never use it. I should, it does do more damage than uf+4, but I just use uf+4 for all my launches. uf+4 is easy. But yeah, FC df+2 is better.

Yeah f+4 is King's best move to use at the wall I think, and I think db+4 looks similar to it. What I like about db+4 is that it leaves them FDFA. Little known fact is if you try to quick Tag out, as in techroll with the Tag button, to get a faster Tag, when in any faced down grounded position, you can't quick Tag out, it will not work in Tag 2! So maybe they block a f+4, they don't attack because they know it's safe, then they get hit by a db+4, they stay down because their back is against the wall and they want to quick Tag out, then King can get free grounded hits. db+4 is one of my favorite King lows in general.

King's unblockable f+1+2 is really fun to catch people off guard with, I agree. SS+3+4 is huge damage and catches people, as does f,f,f+3+4, a great power move too. People sometimes forget how damaging King can be.

f+1+4 is +3 on block and +5 on hit? Damn, I was unaware. Cool. I doubt King's df+1 hits Eddy RLX acually...I just use a d+4 basic low against that kind of stuff, or maybe uf+3.

df+4,3,4 is very improved in Tag 2 because all three hits hit as a wall combo now. In Tekken 6 BR, the third hit always missed, or at least almost always. You can also do df+4,3,4 and hold back on the stick to make King go back turned for good wall okizeme!

I think that King has moved up in the tier list because of how df+4,3, f+1, b+2,1+2 is a combo off of many of King's moves that did not used to allow him to get a full bound combo in Tk6 BR. Moves like uf+1+2, CD+1, CH db+3, and db+2 are buffed a ton!

I like how you said that if a move ends up on the ground it makes it safer, this is very true. King has many moves that leave him grounded like df+3+4, f,f+2+3, db+4, uf+3, SS+3+4, u+2, b+1,4, df+3,4, etc.. He can use these moves to get an easier Tag Crash or to run out the clock.

I agree that f,f,N,1+2 is a great move, I remember Lil' Majin was talking about it a lot on his episode of the VGF Strat Corner Podcast. CH you can use b+3 and get a wallsplat.

I also hate f,f+1. In the really old Tekkens, like Tekken 3, King had his FC df+2 from standing as f,f+2, which used to be a CH launcher. They changed it in Tekken 4 I think to the current f,f+2,1, a mid, high. I hate f,f+2,1 as much as I hate f,f+1. If Namco could PLEASE bring back King's old Tekken 3 f,f+2 CH launcher, that would make me happy. Roger has King's old f,f+2, but a different animation. King's Tekken 3 f,f+2 looks similar to his current FC df+2. LMAO @ f,f+1+2...that move looks so trollish!

I thought his CD+1+2 was -9...I learned something! Yeah -10 or so. I must have misread the frame data list, because it is CD+4 that is -9. I did not know CD+4 was a CH launcher, I thought CD+4 was just a strange move with not much purpose that gave that weird bum flop stun.

Oh yeah I forgot about his u+1+2 grab, great at the wall. QCF+1, then 1+2,3,4,1+2 is a good grab to know how to use, I agree. d+2, then FC db,d,db+1+2 is easier than d+2, GS, so that's what I use. I really like Muscle Buster, it's what I like to do if I'm not using GS. Tombstone Piledriver is my mixup to either GS or QCB+1+2, but I personally find Tombstone's execution a bit difficult. I probably just need to practice.

King's Reversals are so weird! b+2+4 works on kicks, ah, I see. I thought you had to use b+1+3 VS left kicks. b+1+3 reverses right punches, ah I see. And King gets a ground throw off of kick reversals. Really useful since you can't chicken any of them.

The oki from his post TA! combo ender iSW is why I put King in the top 20 in the game. b+3+4 to make a Tag Crash whiff into uf+4, df+4,3 will always combo reset if they do anything, or if they stay down, you can use CD+1, a safe low launcher, to hit them on the ground, also threatening a launch!

yeah, I forgot to say how much I love that pic. Would dedicate it to all these Lili weaboos (Kane, the first of them) out there. lol.

King is really solid this time around. Unlike how he was in TTT. I think you can pair him with any character but imho he works best on infinite scenarios because of his airgrab.

f,f+1 I think it might be useful against Steve's albatross spins and shit from a distance. I can't really think of other uses for it.

This could be from a Lili Ryona video, but it's not. You may find more of these character models on deviantart.

actually Forest... king is not as good overall as you illustrate it... am a king user, and and i use it's top moves...
but sadly.. a high level player can easily overcomes king overall top moves which are "Good only" at most... this is self experience... tell me when you saw a king player kicks other top players in tournaments??... Almost None!!

king has been nerfed alot.. and to make most of king you need to rely on a lot of tricks to land successful hits/grabs "as aris said"... no matter how much extra effort you put on king to get most of him... you better off spending your effort on other characters whom more likely will give you larger margin of versatility during fights..

a simple important example of king weakness is his combo string moves... they are VERY limited... you "WILL" Drop and lose some combos cuz of his moves..it happened to you in often in every full match you played, and you knows it... especially against small characters or bears...in ttt2 context, this is major issue with king... "almost makes him broken"...

Keep in mind, db+3 CH combo (CC, df+ 4, 3 ...) only works in close range. As a result db+3 is not as useful.

@ Mangax I think King has solid combos. I use uf+4, 2,1, f+2,2,2. It his all characters, and you can do 2,1, f+2,2,1 for wall carry if the wall is nearby. But as for the sudestep up, df+4,3, f+1, b+2,1+2 combo, the trick is the f+1, never do neutral 1. It always hits that way.

King is just solid. His df+1 is good, Ch b+1, hopkick, lots of safe mids. db+4, basic d+4 and CD+1 are the lows I like to use, and then there are the grabs.

King has lots of tricks like you say, but there is nothing wong with that. You can play him basic and barebones if you want.

yeah, he can actually be played in many different ways, he can be decent offensively, but he's also good as a turtle character. About his only weakness is his weak whiff punishers, but that's it.
