People like Tokido placing high constantly now shows what of the following?
1) Since MLG ceased to exist - the level of gameplay has gone south (look at pokchop vs tokido)?
2) In reality there are something like 10 people in the US who actually know how to play the game and if they don't show up prepare to see some mediocre gameplay at best. And maybe a lot of people have moven on to other games now or simply lost their fire?
3) Bob is such a shitty and mindless character you don't need much to win with him, pick him up in a day.

Good job posting this Aris. The Julia dropped combos in the first video made me vomit in my mouth a little bit...I do not feel like watching more right now :/

It should be noted that most players didn't go to SS2K11 for Tekken... In fact the Julia that "made you vomit" doesn't even play BR, yet managed to place that high.

I'll email Aris the videos from our nationals last month (OHN9) ... Might give a better indication of what Tokido should have been up against.

@Reality: Or:

4) This tournament was in Australia. Tokido is not exactly terrible either, but he obviously focuses more on SF and lacks matchup experience.

Tokido doesn't know the game that well, therefore doesn't care, and that's his biggest strength.

So why didn't those top players show up to SS2K11?

@Malice: A bit to do with timing, but location and the nature of the event would have been the biggest factor. Event was promoted as a Capcom event with Tekken rolled in fairly late, and with most of the community located in Sydney (versus Melbourne) it was a bit hard to get a lot of us to take the trip down with stuff like exams falling on the same week/weekend.
