Namco has announced that an HD version of TTT will come bundled with Tekken Blood Vengeance on one disc. I wonder if this will bring new life to TTT. A release date hasn't been announced yet but from the sound of it, it may be sooner than later. Check out the video below.

On one hand, I'm very disappointed at the lack of E3 news about a version of TTT2 I will actually be able to play. On the other hand, maybe slips and shin will get another opportunity to get on the mic. TTT2 is probably so far away for a console-only player that it doesn't really matter anyway.
Looks like, it will be a pretty good deal.
A movie + TTT2 in one disc...
I'll prefer this to Tekken on 3DS & WiiU...
cool. hopefully it plays at 60hz in pal regions unlike the old ttt
tekken prius... nice
Must Buy!
This news ease the pain of waiting for TTT2
Fuck this only on PS3 bullshit D;
@L-Z-N
Are you blind or something?? Do you really think that was TTT2?? It was TTT and the movie on one disc. Not TTT2 you retard!! Plus WiiU and 3DS rock so STFU!!!!
@Forest
Shitbox360 cannot play Blu-ray discs so no, this will only be on PS3 and not on that inferior system. Plus Xbox didn't exist when TTT was out so they are not making a new version just for that console.
@JunOgre
"Plus Xbox didn't exist when TTT was out so they are not making a new version just for that console."
If you really believe that, then you need to get your head out of your ass.

Xbox: November 15, 2001
TTT: March 30, 2000
?
shitty exlusivness crap happening all over again. like it was with prev titles, Dark Resurrection only on stupid PSP system that just came out. dont be supprised it TTT2 will be on new Wii only...
As bad as this all looks, I don't think they'll be alienating their core audience that much. I'm sure TTT2 will be totally multiplat (ps3,360,wiiU) but that means they have ANOTHER console to port it to .....which means a release date of holiday 2013 *sigh*
Ok, I know that there is a very large market out there all with different preferences in consoles and the developers and companies consoles which makes it hard for people who like a game but don't have the console for it. But call it old school, bias, or just plain ignorant to the thoughts of the community, but I do believe in the sacredness of console exclusive titles. When Tekken first came it was played on Sony consoles and sony consoles only. From Tekken one to tekken 5 this was the norm and everyone despite their different beliefs accepted that fact and lived with it. Only recently with Tekken 6 did another console get to feel the love. It seems that with this last generation of gaming, people are just expectant in previously console exclusive titles to be created multiplatform just because their is an audience for it now or because others are capatilizing on that market. That is not the case. In my personal opinion I believe Tekken 6 should have remained only for ps3 and remained a Sony exclusive title as it has been this way forever. It felt weird the same way it would feel awkward seeing a ps3 port of halo reach or gears of war from the xbox exclusive list. Certain games that started as exclusive titles I believe should remain that way because it give consumers a reason to save up and purchase both systems and appreciate the benefits of each. I'm a firm believer that a true gamer will do what they can to have access to each console in a respective generation in order to experience each respectively. Plus I think console exclusivity, to me just seems like something that should be retained out of respect for the consumer who purchased that console for that specific franchise only to have it made available to everyone else who has any console they choose. Console exclusivity is like having a party just for those in your neighborhood. It makes the consumer feel special and thought of when a game is made specifically for them. IDK about everyone else, but I think console exclusive titles should remain as they are and people should just adapt and adjust.
HELL YEAH!! the best Tekken ever, finally in HD! Can't wait.
Exactly ifitswrong! For every one that has a problem with this being exclusive, just shut the fuck up. The Tekken IP was born on PlayStation and has REMAINED relevant on PlayStation. Every Tekken game has ran on Sony PlayStation based hardware with Tekken Tag 2 running on System 357 with the exact specs as the PS3 to the point where it even has an XMB interface.
It's not Sony fault that Microsoft decided to cut their loses on the original Xbox (-4 Billion+) and prematurely start another generation with last generation media tech (since 1996) all in the sake of being first to market and to undercut Sony in the hopes of getting the Championship, only to be blind sided by Nintendo. The core base of Tekken has always been PlayStation and always will be. Anyone who says otherwise is basically admitting that Tekken 6 was their first Tekken. Also because it went multiplatform, in addition to the gameplay, the value of the IP has been lowered here in NA and Europe/PAL due to the console market being the prime market, with the exception of Asian/Japan as the core experience primarily remains in the Arcade, which again is on PlayStation based hardware.
Its always the same with you Xbots out here especially since E3 2008 (Final Fantasy XIII). If PlayStation has it, then we gotta have it too. You don't want to get a PS3? That's fine as its understandable. Its tough out here. At first that was Sony's problem with the 2006 launch price of $599.99 but that was five years. Now its competitively priced within the same range as the 360, therefore its your problem. Too much foolishness going on here. NOW its O.K. to have multiple discs yet the reason why the industry went from Nintendo to Sony was because of media limitations i.e. Final Fantasy VII would have been on 30 (!) N64 ROM cartridges. Next time, hope that Microsoft develops a true next generation platform in which all of the components are next generation and #Winning a Generation Championship. EVEN Nintendo is basing the WiiU on a proprietary format that is based on Blu-ray technology at 25GB.
The bottom line is Namco are alienating more than 60% of gamers by putting it on only one system. I am hardcore enough to buy it despite only having an XB360. I have a Blu-Ray player. But I am an exception to most gamers.
who really cares if its on just ps3? you all should be some grown ass adults by now who can save 300$ to buy a decent gaming system if you wanted instead of bitching about console exclusivity.
BREAKING NEWS: shit costs money. news at 11.
meh, I finally have a reason to boot up my ps3....
Firstly: This news is awesome as a motherfucker, despite not being quite as grand as we all wanted.
Secondly: Anybody that gives a shit enough to actually buy this bundle--be it for the game or the film, is very, very likely a longtime fan of Tekken, a game which has been exclusive to Sony's Playstation since the beginning; this suggests either you already should own a PS3.
Thirdly: I doubt that this release, exclusive or not, will generate impressive sales among new consumers for the fact that the graphics simply don't fit in any way shape or fashion the expected aesthetic of today's releases. Those accepting of the graphics of this release will likely be older gamers; again, they should already own a PS3.
Fourth: For consumers hyped enough about this release to give a shit that don't already own a PS3, I'm almost certain, will buy one.
Fifth: Despite my personal happiness with the release, I feel that the fears I had back when I first heard that Harada was getting a twitter and a Facebook and shit are materializing: I thought: 'the only people that are going to be following Harada will either be older Tekken heads or a handful of newer players. From what I know, this is the first time that Harada and the Tekken team have made the effort to reach out to the community... but the community that will care will not be the community that is rich in potential sales. I worry that too much input and nagging by a couple of thousand old Tekken heads will lead to dangerous expenditures in projects that won't yield enough sales to ensure further productions or support. [look at the fucking fat girl labias on Devil Kazuya's back. We're in the age of the internet now where everybody with a computer is used to the utmost in graphic design. That shit looks ridiculous, relatively. Ogre? what the fuck? Visually, what trend does this character connect with to where younger generations will say: "wow, that's awesome, I'm totally going to buy this game." Because the fact of the matter is that Ogre, despite perhaps being a beast gamewise, does not have any sort of aesthetic by which newer players can relate with. A big difference between Tekken and Street Fighter is that Street Fighter largely has always tried to encapsulate an aesthetic that America can relate to. (Yes, America is the place where you want to market your shit. We buy everything. We're the mall of the fucking world.) Tekken does not do this, and never quite has. Tekken's most visually attractive poster-boy/graphic-advertisement ever was T5 Kazuya, as the image itself wasn't heavily cultured and said to players all the fuck over: "Hey, I'm a shirtless, muscular badass with scars and karate pants-- I'm badass, and so are you. Lets fucking rock. etc". So, yes I'm ranting a bit, but what am I ultimately saying? if Tekken wants to succeed globally and share the amount of success that Streetfighter currently has, Lars needs a god damn Haircut and the graphic design team needs a fucking reality check. I mean, look at the cgi still of Bryan from T6-- what the fuck is he doing with his arms, and why are they coupled with that queer, lesbian grin? SOOOO, all of you old fags who played Tekken before the internet globalized the visual aesthetic to suit the market-- ie, AMERICA, shut the fuck up with your wants for a blue Devil Kaz or whatever and remind the Tekken team that their market has changed drastically since they began because of vast changes in visual global flows and practices of looking.
I'm not saying that the game needs any grand visual changes, but I am saying that they really could benefit from the visual opinions of American graphic designers, because their last attempt via pairing up with Tapout just seemed to confuse the shit out of people.
Aside from that, I personally am excited for the release, but because I would actually like Tekken to be popular among larger crowds, I do think that the game needs a better pool of aesthetic opinion than Harada's Facebook or Twitter page, or even their current team, as I feel that the characters can be difficult for American, money carrying audiences to visually relate to.
Although, I could just be speaking from the position of one embedded deeply in sleep deficit.
Bah, I have been a tekken faithful since tekken 1. (I am 32 years old) I have an xbox because ps3 was late to market and sorry it has failed to deliver. (I own both consoles). was really hoping we wouldn't see console war bullshit on this site
Xbox360 is no where near inferior to the ps3, in fact most titles are better on a technical level on the box than on the sony counterpart, and both consoles have extreme technical flaws. Blue ray really doesn't mean shit, a bit better video quality on fmv's and that's it. While the xbox plays the games at a better frame rate and often better graphics.
Think your selves lucky t6 was released on xbox as well because sales would have been pretty pathetic otherwise and we may have seen the death of the tekken franchise.... There is also no reason why this game shouldn't come out on 360, dont bring up that blue ray bullshit cause it's irrelevant, we are talking about a last gen game here a release title of ps2 at that.
They could always sell this shit without the movie on xboxlive.
Anyway I dont care I own a PS3 and was wondering why this game never got the remastering treatment .. I am fucking hype, lets hope they add online to it.
I agree with your post in a lot of ways but the fucking 360 version didn't even move a million units....and i'm sure the extra time and effort from the dev standpoint (the arcade system was based on ps3 hardware) wasn't even made up for by those shitty sales. So without 360 tekken 6 would have sold 2.7 million (assuming no one would buy a ps3), the Tekken dev team spends less time and money on it...and we would have gotten the game sooner. So please guys lets put this shit to rest ....everyone knows fighting games sell better on ps3 and they are more at home on the console as well. I'm hype for old TTT myself ....and i'm actually un-hype about TTT2 now b/c i know I won't see the game until 2013 (december) b/c they have YET another console to port it to that it won't sell well on SHIT!
