ATP Podcast Mortal Kombat Special feat Arturo Sanchez and LIJoe

As many of you might already know, I've taken an interest in the new Mortal Kombat. Unfortunately, it seems like the game is struggling on a competitive level so I thought I would put together a last minute podcast before Evo to discuss several different aspects of Mortal Kombat 9. I'm very happy to welcome on my good friends Art Sanchez and LI Joe who are two very reputable top level MK players who also have had great success with multiple other fighting games. Some of the topics we cover include the strength of EC vs WC, our gripes with the game, thoughts on patching as well as well as several other topics. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Interesting. and work hard to grow the scene, and I can't understand why it is going this way. NRS isn't really doing anything wrong when it comes to promotion, or patching, or anything. Their DLC is being done right IMO too.

If EVO gives it enough attention maybe it will have a bit more life.

Lol when Aris said that MrNAPS said he had no idea how Michaelangelo got so good. I know the secret behind that one. >.>

Man I wish I had an active scene or popular tournaments in my area. All I got is online and some scrub named konqqer to body me when we play.

Hey Aris, are you going to do a normal podcast this month, or is this it for July? And are you going to do an Evo special?

Double comment... but hey, I just had to tell you that the cast was great! :D
You should have them both on again some time :-)

The first half of this podcast is so negative and speculative but the second half when you guys actually talk about the game it gets better.

I been waiting to hear a podcast on MK. Awesome episode.

As for MK, I thought it would have stayed poppin' until EVO at least. ECT had a ton of people for MK, but I don't even see people come out for a monthly in my area for MK. I like MK, but if there's no competition, then what's the point?

First and foremost......I THANK YOU for usin' Google for ya podcast!! It made it that much EASIER to stream it! If i lose connection. NO LONGER do i have to start over. I can just ff to the spot i lost it at!! Props for that! The cast was great. I often wonder to where are the MK streams myself. I thought the game was doin' somewhat good, but after PDP it pretty much was diggin' its grave suddlely and no one seems to want to pull it from it. Lets hope things change, cause i havent even touch the game, any carnation of it.

Tight podcast, you guys discussed some real shit, it was interesting to hear Art's and Joe's thoughts on the game and I agreed with a lot of what they said on where MK stands right now which is unfortunately not in a good position. It's a shame because I wanted the game to end up being better than what it was but it shows NRS just aren't experienced when it comes to making a game competitive

i'm very sorry if people find this offensive... but less MK content please.

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 3:44 PM | Unregistered Commenterjoebo

I think of the hugest problems the MK scene has is being an online-only competition scene for the past... god knows how many years. When you tell the kiddies to leave their houses, they revolt and take this martyr's stance. People don't come out.
