Mortal Kombat: All DLC Banned at EVO Plus Tournament Schedule

It has been officially announced that all DLC will be banned for Mortal Kombat at Evo. This includes characters and costumes. You can also check out the grueling tournament schedule below. 8am two days in a row??? Jesus.
"Tournament Schedule
The qualification pools and semi-final rounds will occur on Friday and Saturday for all games. The final 8-man bracket for each tournament is on Sunday.
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition - Friday, July 29th
Pools: 8 AM – 6 PM
Quarter Finals: 6 PM – 8 PM
Semi Finals: 8 PM – 11 PM
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 – Saturday July 30th
Pools: 8 AM – 6 PM
Quarter Finals: 6 PM – 8 PM
Semi Finals: 8 PM – 11 PM
Mortal Kombat 9 – Friday, July 29th
Pools: 8 AM – 6 PM

Why would they ban costumes? To eliminate confusion between the ninjas and whatnot?
Alot of the DLC costumes have bugs, for instance the Cyrax DLC costume can still do the grab look that was patched and the smoke DLC costume can still OTG smoke bomb
Banning all DLC characters and console-spesific characters is the only correct thing to do. There shouldn't even be a question about it. It should go without saying!!!
The lineup of the fighting games are looking pretty strong! Still it is Tekken I'm looking most forward to.

Why are people complaining about specific games being 8am, looks like all of the games start at 8am..
0800. In the morning? Think of all those no-shows DQs. Getting to the top might be easier this year.
@delhi OTG means the smoke bomb can hit someone off the ground, as in when they get knocked down and are lieing on the ground. They patched this out recently but with the smoke DLC costume you can still do it.

You guys do realize that just because pools start at 8am, doesn't mean you will definitely have to be there at 8? You'll get your pool assignment with a time about a week before evo. each pool should last less than two hours. chances are, your pool won't be at 8 am. And if it is, suck it up, play your matches, then go the fuck back to sleep because even if you win, you won't have to be back until 6pm for the next round.

I wonder upon release of MK9 they had all the DLC customes and characters ready to go or mostly finished. Then patch had to be made for the game and maybe...DLC weren't accounted for QA testing? I dunno my guess is a rushed patch or poor testing. Not bashing Nether Realms Studios just happy the US has representation in the fighting game community.
