Soul Calibur Lost Swords - Beta Test Version Announced

A Beta(β) test for the upcoming free-to-play singleplayer only game "Soul Calibur: Losts Swords" has been announced by Namco Bandai. The open Beta test will start on the 14th of November and finish on the 18th of November. To get into the Beta test, you'll have to download the 4GB β version of the game on the Playstation Network when it becomes available. Namco Registers "Soulcalibur: Unbreakable Soul" Trademark

Anyone care to take a guess at what this could possibily be this time? A recent trademark filing under the title of "SOULCALIBUR Unbreakable Soul" has been registered by Namco Bandai and it might possibily suggest that yet another Soul Calibur game is under development alongside the HD Online port of Soul Calibur II and the free-to-play Soul Calibur: Lost Swords. Something that makes this more believable is that the new SoulCalibur project leader Masaki Hoshino is also said to be working on 4 projects according to Katsuhiro Harada. Should anything form out of this trademark, we'll let you know.

Soul Calibur: Lost Swords - Tokyo Game Show Trailer

For those that missed the TGS live stream, NamcoBandaiGamesEU YouTube channel uploaded the reveal trailer for Soul Calibur: Lost Swords. In the trailer you can see that character weapons in the game have different colours which are actually due to weapon attributes in the game and that Sophitia is confirmed to be in the roster. Soul Calibur: Lost Swords is Single-Player Only

Well this is one way it differentiates itself from Tekken Revolution, Soul Calibur: Lost Swords is apparently single player only according to Gamesradar. It seems that this title will in fact have no multiplayer whatsoever so it kinda shifts the perception on what kind of game this title might actually be. Other details apart from this point is that Siegfried and Mitsurugi are confirmed to be in the game, the game will monetise virtual items and that more information on it is to come at TGS. So check back during September 19th til the 22th for more information on the title.
