New Tekken 7 Announcement will be made at the Namco Sugamo Cup

Katsuhiro Harada just tweeted that the upcoming Namco Sugamo Cup event this weekend will feature an appearance by Harada himself and also that he will be bringing a new announcement regarding Tekken 7 with him to the event! The Namco Sugamo Cup for those who don't know, is a 3 day event that the Namco Sugamo arcade in Japan is running that features a True Tekken God, Nobi VS Take 'concept match', followed by a 3on3 tournament then lastly a beginner tournament over the span of 3 days. The Namco Sugamo Cup is occurring this weekend starting from the Saturday up until the Monday in Japan at the Namco Sugamo game center with the Tekken 7 announcement being made and streamed on niconico during the 3on3 Tournament event. Since it's on niconico, I'll be sure to put up the archives on YouTube eventually.

Meh! Harada will definitely fuck this up! Tekken has survived this long not because of him, but IN SPITE of all the shit this cunt has done to the series. But those days are over! They will never manage to solve the clusterfuck Tekken has become!

My bet is that T7 will have a bunch of new new characters nobody will give two fucks about, some retarded n00b-friendly mechanism nobody asked for like the total removal of pick-up oki in Tekken Revolution and some other really dumb shit!

Man Harada is the biggest cunt in the entire history of mankind. Much worse than Hitler and Osama bin Laden combined!

^ and I thought I was the only one who's been growing to dislike Harada lately... Glad I'm not alone in that regard!

hmm Harada hate.... I actually attribute the storyline becomming so hokie since since three because of this guy.
He also has was too much of a man crush on heihachi which I feel is going to lead to a real lame outcome in tekken 7.

He could also be getting a bit long in the tooth gameplay wise. Tekken needs a pretty drastic overhaul in terms of Physics and presentation if they want it to be a run away hit again.

Well it's nice to see how all of you sociopaths are not appreciative of Bandai Namco and Harada's work and what they gave you since childhood and have to go off comparing Harada to Hitler and Bin Laden.

But I do have a bad feeling that Tekken 7 is going to somehow ruin or kill the entire franchise.

What everyone is suggesting is a reboot, and i don't think that will happen. All Namco will do is add new characters, and minus unpopular ones. If you want dumbed down gameplay there are alternatives. Like DOA. Or VF. Tekken appeals to asian countries because they don't mind doing their homework i.e frame knowledge. Or practising for hours i.e BDC. Namco dumbed down SCV and how did that turn out? As I said, if you want something different, it probably already exists. Go play that. Stop trying to turn tekken into something else, cause Harada will totally f@ck it up, and we will have an even worse product.

The problem with tekken is a lack of a proper training mode. But the reasoning behind this is not laziness. The template already exists in VF4evo. It probably is game shelflife. If there were a proper training mode, new players would level up quicker and the game becomes stale/boring. But this thinking is erroneous. It is a business minded approach, but its wrong. If a tutorial mode taught the interacacies and nuances of this game, more people could understand it and more people would play/participate in it. Unfortunately harada has not yet agreed on this principle. Proof of this is in T6 he removed record mode, a backwards move which is a reflection of his beliefs on this matter. Tekkens gameplay is deep, and this is refreshing, and does not need to be nerfed. My opinion.
