Bandai Namco Presents the Tekken Pro Championships with Over $10,000 in Prize Pool

1.5 Million Yen is on the line today in Japan as 8 officially recognized 'Pro' gamers for Tekken 7 battle it out. The action kicks off at 5:45 PM in Tokyo on March 24 which translates to 1:45 AM Pacific and 4:45 AM Eastern time so you might want to grab a coffee for this occasion. The top level players from the country competing in this double elimination tournament are Yuu, Noroma, Hakai Oh, Take, Nobi, Pekos, Double & lastly AO. This high profile Japanese tournament event is being simultaneously streamed live on the official Twitch Tekken channel and the losers side of the tournament being broadcasted on the 876TV YouTube channel so be sure to tune in live if you don't want to miss out.

Tekken World Tour 2018 Season Begins Next Week at Final Round

Eeeeesports. Bandai Namco are back to announce the new year of competitive Tekken 7 with the Tekken World Tour. The 2018 season of the Tekken World Tour officially kicks off this month with the first event; Final Round 18 on March 16-18 being a Master level event for competitors looking for a strong start to the new season. The big changes to the tour format for this year is the unified leaderboards which replace the region locked leaderboards from last year, the location of grand finals event which is now set to take place in Amsterdam in the Netherlands and 20 top placers from the leaderboards qualifying for the TWT Grand Finals (up from the previous 16). NorCal STRONGSTYLE 6 | Dedicated Tekken Tournament Event Taking Place Feb 10 - 11

Strongstyle returns this weekend in Northern California! The sixth Strongstyle event sees players from Europe, Japan, Korea fly into San Jose, California to take on the American competition from all over the country. Tekken 7 is being featured as the main tournament event alongside side tournaments for Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection and Tekken Ball Mode from Tekken 3. If you're a Tekken player, this event is not one to miss. Have no worries if you can't make it there however, for this occasion, StrongStyle is being streamed live over on Team Spooky's Twitch channel. Japan Paves the Way for E-sports with New Gaming Pro Licenses

Big news for the e-sports industry in Japan has come forward with the recent announcement that official 'Pro Licenses' are being issues from next year. Japan has in the past prevented their really strong players from making a career out of their talent due to strict gambling laws but this new initiative will seperate these "Pros" from the general public. With this news in mind, the upcoming Game Party Japan 2018 tournament (Togaiki) comes as the country's first opportunity to grant legal prize money to these professional gamers in the upcoming Tekken 7 tournament on February 10~11, 2018. Bandai Namco have currently been running their Japan Regionals competition starting with online qualifiers from this month which is leading into their finals play off in January 14 with top 3 finishers from there being granted an appearance in the GPJ 2018 tournament. MASTERCUP.9 | World's Largest 5on5 Tekken 7 Team Tournament on November 25

Join us this Saturday in Tokyo, Japan for the world's largest Tekken 7 team tournament; MASTERCUP.9. This tournament marks the 10th anniversary of the debut of MASTERCUP tournaments in Japan which are known to gather players from all over the country to battle it out in big 5on5 team tournament. A single day event but with a staggering total of 207 teams of 1035 Tekken players including some of the best in the world like Qudans, Help Me, Knee, Chanel, Nobi, Noroma and a ton more that'll be too lengthy to mention in full on here. MASTERCUP.9 is being streamed live on with multiple language streams so tune into the English stream with Markman, Tasty Steve & Michael Murray handling the commentary. The tournament's opening ceremony and first wave of pools commence at 8 AM in the morning in Japan so that'll be 3 PM PST and 6 PM EST on the Friday and at Midnight for Central European time for those looking to tune in.
