Warsaw Games Week | KOIFT 2016 European Qualifier Event on Oct 16

The first European qualifier event for the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 2016 is taking place this weekend at Warsaw Games Week in the country of Poland. Tekken 7 tournament entry sign-ups are to be taken on the day for each days with the finals having 8 qualifying players advancing alongside 8 invited top Polish Tekken players in a 16 man bracket. The winner of this event will get a paid for trip to Japan to represent Europe in the KOIFT 2016 finals in Japan. The preliminary tournaments at WGW on Friday & Saturday will be streamed on JakubDi's Twitch channel with the finals of the tournament being streamed on the Bandai Namco Europe Twitch channel. Tournament details can be read on the European Tekken website.

Warsaw Games Week: EU Qualifier #1

There will be 3 preliminary tournaments taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. People will be able to sign-up until 1:30 PM each day and the preliminary tournaments will be starting at 2PM. 8 players in total (2 from Thursday, 3 from Friday and Saturday) will advance to the Sunday finals along with 8 invited top Polish players:

General rules:

The tournament platform is PlayStation 4.

Using own controllers: allowed.

Characters: Master Raven, Bob, Lee and Miguel are not available.

Players must be 18 or above.

Pausing the game in any way may result in forfeiting the round, unless the opponent allows to continue the round.

Preliminary tournament rules:

Player cap: 64

Tournament format: Single elimination

Number of matches: First to 2 until top 8, then First to 3

Players who already qualified for Sunday are not allowed to enter other preliminary tournaments. They are given a free ticket for Sunday.

Sunday EU Qualifier rules:

Number of players: 16

Tournament format: Double elimination

Number of matches: First to 3

The tournament starts on Sunday at 10AM, finals will be played at 3PM.

Prizes:

1st place: the winner will qualify to King of Iron Fist Tournament 2016 held in Tokyo, Japan on the 10th of December (Accommodation and travel to and from the Grand Final for the duration of the finals will be handled by Bandai Namco. Supplementary costs such as meals or any other are not included)

other prizes: 1000 PLN + Tekken 7 PlayStation 4 copy (as soon as it is released) + game gadgets

2nd place: 500 PLN + Tekken 7 PlayStation 4 copy (as soon as it is released) + game gadgets

3rd place: Tekken 7 PlayStation 4 copy (as soon as it is released) + game gadgets

4th place: game gadgets
