Few Tekken 7 Leo Notes from Kuro Kuro at the Location Test

UPDATE: Added some more notes from Kuro Kuro that he recently added as well as some staple Leo combos from Special Pikoham.

Fuck the twitter character limit. Anyway, this is just some notes from Kuro Kuro after having played Tekken 7 with Leo at the recent location tests. This all comes from his twitter so If you're interested in this sort of stuff be sure to follow him. I may get around to eventually doing a big round up post on all the Tekken 7 findings later down the line.

▌Leo Notes from TEKKEN 7 Location Test

  • The reach on the first hit of d/b+4,1 is decreased. (Really sure on this)
  • The reach on d+1 is decreased. (Really sure on this.)
  • The ability to pick up opponents for juggles with the first hit of Leo's b+1,4 (the elbow) is maybe decreased?
  • KNK 2 and ff+4,3 are tailspin/kirimomi moves.
  • b+2,1+2 is hit confirmable and animation on hit is like Heihachi's d/f+1,2 now.
  • b+3,1 is hit confirmable with animation on hit like Heihachi's d/f+1,2, maybe we can use this move more in combos.
  • The d/b+4,1 into the f+1+2 shoulder backroll catch doesn't work now. Seems to be due to the system wide changes to the Oki system.
  • The input to Leo's d/f+1+2, 1+2, qcf+2 string is now changed to bf+1+2, 1+2, 2 (back then forward + 1 & 2 button starter)
  • the bf+1+2 string was used exclusively in bound combos. I wonder when are we ever going to do the move now since bound is out?
  • Leo's Rage art input is d/f+1+2. Maybe it's possible to do this after a crouch dash for more range on it as well as it's Power crush like properties.
  • Noticed added facial expression to the character. When Leo kills an opponent with a d/b+4,1 the slow mo zoom in makes it look like Leo's clenching his teeth.
  • I don't personally mainly use Leo because he looks like a Homo shota but If I did, I'd think he looks great. (Don't google what that is please.)
  • Second hit of KNK 1,2 on counter hit has a different animation on the opponent. Looks like they're blown a bit further back.
  • Hitting the opponent with d+1+2,3 (d+1+2 > BOK 3) looks like the opponent falls closer to you and faced up. Maybe you can pick up after this move with qcf+4

▌Leo Notes from Location Test Vol. II

  • d/f+2+3 (The kneeling low) attack frame date seems to have been made a little worse. The frames on normal hit is a little less with the frames on block maybe a bit more worse. (He mentions that d/f+2+3 on hit into ws+4 used to beat opponent's fastest lows)
  • u/f+1,2 animation on hit for the opponent has changed. Looks like Bryan's mach breaker on hit animation. Since Tekken 7 removed the standard backroll, maybe we can chase after the opponent after u/f+1,2?
  • 2,2 animation on hit for the opponent also changed. They're blown back into a face down position.
  • qcf+3+4 looks like it hit's the opponent closer to you then it did previously. (Opponent lands closer to you after this on hit)
  • Kuro Kuro couldn't get the crouch dash into Rage Art to work.
  • fc d/f+3 is at least -24 frames on block now.
  • The fourth hit of 1,2,1,4 was made weaker?
  • 'What's the point of d/b+2,2 now since bound is out?'
  • You can still pick up for a combo after f+3 on counter hit.
  • Leo's black eyebrows stand out a bit more. Also Leo might have gotten some longer hair.
  • Leo's bf+1+2, 1+2, 2 (BBP) doesn't work after a kirimomi. Opponent drops to fast for the entire move to connect. Have to find a different use of this move now that bound is out.

Additional Leo note: 'Leo's u/f+2,1 is now at least -10. I couldn't block the jabs after the opponent blocked the u/f+2,1.' Source.

Staple:

Launch -> f+2 -> b+1, 4 ~ d/f -> ws+3 -> f+4 -> KNK 2 -> Kirimomi/tailspin -> dash in (fff) -> b+2, 1+2 - > ff+3

Wall Combo:

End with b+2, 1+2 -> d+3+4 (stomp)

Wall break Combo:

End with b+3, 1 -> d/b+4, 1 -> Wall break -> then do anything else.

Floor Break Combo:

b+2, 1+2 -> another b+2, 1+2 -> d+3+4 (stomp)

It looks as though none of you played TTT2 and saw Leo in a bikini with boobs. It also looks like none of you listen to Harada when he confirms Leo stands for Eleonore as in Eleonore Kliesen.

b2,1+2 and b3,1 being hit confirmable are good buffs, mainly the former. b2,1+2 is unsafe so now I can avoid going for an all or nothing situation.

As for db2,2, I thought when bound was in: "What's the point of db2,2 when I have b2,1+2?". db2,2 is high, mid and delayable. Safe on block in TTT2. I'm guessing use it as an offensive tactic? Use it the same way as you use other delayable moves like Heihachi df1,2 / Lars b2,1. Use it to catch people pressing buttons by delaying it.

Leo is suppose to be a gender-bender. Even the name 'Leo' is ambiguous. Who really cares. Why are there no T7 arcade test vids? Tekken seems to be losing public interest. Fighting games are definitely becoming a niche genre.

Eleonore is a girls name. She is a tom boy.
The original tekken 6 japanese arcade profile stated she was a girl. It wasnt till all this debate started up Namco decided to capitalize on it.

Yes, Leo is a girl.

To further hit the nail her character model neutral pose is the same as other female character (thumbs pose are bend) while the male neutral pose are different (for whatever reason)

But Leo can do the Heihachi's carnival headbutt while interestingly Alex can do the Anna b+1 slap thing (forgot what's its called)

So, any of you can be so kind to explain to me what's the purpose of the change from bound to tailspin? It looks to me that that staple combo is not doing less damage than the former, while the wall carry looks improved.
