Tekken 7 - Josie Rizal Movelist Rundown  

Josie Rizal has been out in Japanese arcades for a small period of time now but it wasn't until the 28th of April did Korea finally get the chance to play as her. And with that, the official Korean Tekken-net website has updated with her movelist and the Game Plaza Gao arcade has once again provided a complete movelist video for Josie which I'll be using for this rundown. Given a brief glance at her movelist, she shares a lot of similarities with Bruce Irvin from previous Tekken games however she has her little own spin on the moveset. She'd probably be a great place to start if any Bruce players were looking into getting into Tekken 7. Let's begin.

    High, high, high - 10f 1,2,2 jabs that has a lot of frame advantage on hit. All naturally combos.

  • Graphium Combo

    High, high, mid - 1,2 into a mid knee.

  • One Two High Kick to Switch Stance

    High, high, high - 1,2 into a high kick. This will transition into Josie's 'SWITCH' stance on hit.

  • Iligan Switch

    Switch Stance:

    High - This leads to a juggle on counter hit.

  • Ormoc Switch

    Switch Stance:

    Mid - This leads to a juggle on counter hit.

  • [HOMING] Sapu Switch

    Switch Stance:

    Low - Tracks and also leads to a juggle on counter hit.

  • Side Strike Switch

    Switch Stance:

    Mid - Mainly used in combos.

  • Slide In

    Switch Stance:

    Forward wavedash movement out of Switch stance.

  • [SCREW] One Two Low High Spin Kick

    High, high, low, high.

  • Sunrise Combo

    High, high, mid - Her 10f jab punish.

  • Quick Graphium

    High, mid.

  • High Kick Combo to Switch Stance

    High, high - Mainly used for combos.

  • [SCREW]  Right Straight to Low High Spin Kick

    High, low, high.

  • Hollow Point Shot

    Mid, mid - Comes out in 13 frames and combos naturally on counter hit.

  • Hollow Point to Slide In

    Mid, stance.

  • [SCREW] Intercept Kick

    Mid, high - Mainly used for combos.

  • Intercept Cannon

    Mid, mid - Mainly used for combos.

  • [SCREW] [HOMING] Spinning Scythe

    High - Used in combos and is the 'go-to' Homing attack to stop side steppers or side walkers.

  • [SCREW] Subic Ring

    High, low, high - Used in combos.

  • Panquil Ring

    High, high - 12f punish that also knocksdown.

  • Piercing Needle

    Mid - Knee attack thats used in combos.

  • Step In Toe Kick


  • Flying Elbow

    High - Leads to a small combo on hit and makes for a good, fast whiff punisher in close range.

  • Heavy Knee

    Mid - Leads to a juggle on counter hit.

  • Liver Shot to Straight Punch

    Mid, high.

  • Liver Shot to Flying Punch Combo

    Mid, low, high - You'll want to primarily use only the first two hits of this move since the last can be ducked.

  • Liver Blow to Feignt Knee

    Mid, mid.

  • Sonic Upper

    Mid - Her d/f+2 combo starter.

  • Cyclone Sweep Combo

    Low, mid - The low puts Josie really low to the ground causing attacks to whiff over her head.

  • Cyclone Sweep to Slide In

    Low, stance.

  • Triaina Middle to Switch Stance

    Mid, stance - This move leads to Switch stance on hit.

  • [POWER CRUSH] Boost Knee Launcher


  • Kawasan Falls

    Mid - Has floorbreak properties.

  • Left Low Kick & High Kick to Switch Stance

    Low, high, stance - Her combo 'pick-up' move. Leads to Switch stance on hit.

  • Triaina Low

    Low - Low poke with great range.

  • Full Blast Kick

    Mid - Knocks the opponent down.

  • Lexias Chain

    Mid, mid, mid - Used in wall combos, delay the last hit of this at the wall for it to be a grounded hit.

  • [SCREW] Twin Rippers

    High, high.

  • Quick Elbow


  • Disarm Drop

    (On counter hit.)

    High, attack throw.

  • [HOMING] Tracer Kick


  • Streamline Combo

    Mid, mid, mid - Mainly used in combos.

  • Streamline to Low Kick

    Mid, mid, low.

  • Streamline to Feignt Knee

    Mid, mid, mid.

  • Spinning Back Blow


  • Sway Back

    Stance - Hold forward to 'Slide-in'

  • Jaw Clipper

    Sway Back:

    Mid - Low crushes & juggle starter.

  • Carabao Horn

    Mid - Hopkick, low crushes & juggle starter.

  • Rapid Double Knee

    MId, mid - 14 frames on start-up and is mainly used in combos and as a punisher.

  • Needle Shot

    Mid - Forward thrusting kick that is plus frames on block. It's a linear attack however so it can get side stepped.

  • [HOMING] Step In Tracer

    Mid - Great for side steppers / side walkers.

  • [SCREW] Slide In Tornado Combo

    High, high - Mainly used in combos.

  • Slide In Elbow

    Mid - Can high crush and is used as a combo starter.

  • Slide In Low Kick

    Low - Long distance and has great damage.

  • Target Slash

    Mid - Slash kick that is advantageous on block.

  • Interrupting Upper

    while standing:

    Mid - Crumple animation on counter hit and has 14f on start-up.

  • Double Boomerang

    while standing:

    Mid, high - Her 13 frame, while standing combo starter.

  • Double Boomerang to Sway Back

    while standing:

    Mid, stance - Hold back from ws+2,1 to go to Sway back.

  • Vertical Knee

    while standing:

    Mid - High crushing, combo starter.

  • Whip Kick

    while standing:

    Low - Advantageous on hit and leads to a knock down on counter hit. Also goes really under attacks.
