MASTERCUP.7 Announced! Japanese 5on5 Tournament Scheduled for 11/2

I'm seeing a lot of 7s this month. A new update on the MASTERCUP OFFICIAL website announces the latest numbered installment of Japan's largest Tekken tournament: MASTERCUP.7. There are some early details mentioned in the update so things might not have been finalized but the tournament is expected to be held in Tokyo's Leisureland Pallet town on the 2nd of November this year and will start accepting entries for players and teams on the 1st of August. You can expect to find more information on this tournament later on in the year. As a small additional reminder, Double Cup MASTERCUP is happening on this weekend so if you're in the area, try to make it out and enjoy some Tekken!

TEKKEN 7 - Next Numbered Installment of Tekken Series Announced

Straight from EVO 2014, Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada announces the next numbered installment of the series - Tekken 7. The announcement comes with a small teaser video featuring what is presumably Kazumi Mishima who I believe is Kazuya's mother. Additionally, an earlier leak on AOL.com showed a video with Harada saying that the engine of Tekken 7 will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 which will allow the team to develop the game for several different platforms. Minor speculation on my part but since Tekken 7 will now be using UE4, it's not farfetched to see a PC release of the title in the future. You can watch the announcement video below. More details on Tekken 7 will be coming on July 25th at the San Diego Comic-Con event.

EVO 2014 | World's Largest Fighting Game Tournament Held in Las Vegas

UPDATE: TTT2 tournament has concluded and the results and archives of it has been added!

All roads lead to EVO. Evolution 2014 will be commencing over the course of this weekend and thanks to the efforts of MarkMan and Bandai Namco Games, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is being included into the event and will have an added $5,000 pot bonus to the prize. The TTT2 tournament at Evo is scheduled for the entirety of Friday this week but there will be a lot more to come in terms of Tekken action with the Tekken Casino. Among that, there's also side tournaments for Soul Calibur 2 HDO and Soul Calibur 5 happening on the Mad Catz stream and will surely be great to watch. Be sure to tune in if you can't make it to EVO 2014 this year. For competitors at the event, be sure to grab your free Devil Asuka shirt!

Final Reminder: StrongStyle Donation Drive Ends on EVO Weekend

This is the final reminder post I'm going to make regarding the StrongStyle donation drive to get me to Norcal's StrongStyle~5 tournament being held on the last weekend of September this year. The donation drive will end on EVO weekend or specifically the Sunday (7/12) so that I can refund everyone in time if this fails. TTT2: Knee's Tekken Afreeca Stream YouTube Channel

If you're a big fan of watching Knee play Tekken from his house through his afreeca stream, you'll be pleased to know that Knee has a YouTube channel and is now actively uploading archives of the streams onto it. In the YouTube channel, you can find a bunch of footage of Knee playing online against players from different regions so you'll actually find him playing against Japanese players sometimes such as Nobi, Yuttari Yuuki, Kuro Kuro and more. This is a big recommendation for a YouTube channel subscription if you use that feature on YouTube.
