EVO Japan to Feature Playable Soul Calibur VI & SCV Side Tournament

The SoulCalibur & Tekken 7 Producer Motohiro Okubo made an appearance during the Eastern Japanese online qualifiers for their national Tekken 7 tournament and relayed some news for Soul Calibur fans going to EVO Japan. The first of which is that Bandai Namco are planning to have playable builds of Soul Calibur 6 for people to try out at the event and it marks the first time the public will be given access to the new game. It wasn't disclosed what build the game will be (If it is still the Mitsurugi/Sophita build for instance) but more details about the playable SC6 demo is said to be coming at a later date. Next bit of news was bringing up that Evo Japan is having a side tournament for Soul Calibur V, the previous SC game on the PS3 & X360. Registration for that side tournament are now open so sign-up if you happen to be over there. EVO Japan marks a small resurgence of Soul Calibur activity so perhaps we might even see some new news or announcements about the series made at the event. Tekken Global Prime Mod Transforms PSP Tekken 6 into Tekken 7

The mod for the PSP version of Tekken 6 that turns the game into more of Tekken 7 has been released recently. It was a collaborative effort by the Tekken Philippines & Tekken Trujillo modding teams to recreate Tekken 7 during the period in time when Tekken 7 wasn't actually out yet but they persisted in finishing it after the game's official launch. It's a show of dedication if nothing else and allows you to (kinda) play Tekken 7 on the go on lower powered devices through emulating it in PPSSPP which is available for smartphones. Tekken 7 Sales Exceed 2.5 Million Units Over this Past Year

[Article Retraction 1/1/18] The original version of this post originally stated that Tekken 7 had exceeded 3 million copies. Upon double checking the source, this has turned out to be incorrect. The actual number of figures sold were mentioned during KawaiiFaceMiles & MainMan's Tekken Talk stream to be over 2.5 million. The thing mentioned in 4Gamer was that Tekken 7 was fast approaching the 3 million mark, not that it already exceeded it. The Japanese gaming site 4Gamer is doing their brief year-end interview with notable figures in the Japanese gaming industry to give us updates and comments to make over the next coming year. Katsuhiro Harada was again one of the people featured and was able to give us a sales update for home versions of Tekken 7. According to him, Tekken 7 saw over 2 million copies sold within the first 2 months after its launch back in June but that figure is now fast approaching the 3 million copies landmark after half a year. He also mentioned that for this time around, Tekken 7 has seen the most post launch support from the series and hopes to be able to continue updating it and giving the title support for the next year. If you have any kind of requests to make about what you hope to see in Tekken 7 in the future, you can tweet them to Harada directly at @Harada_TEKKEN. You might see some Japanese on his timeline but he says don't be shy to tweet the suggestions in English too if you happen to have them. His notable game and movie for the year happened to be Super Mario Odyssey (Nintendo Switch) and Atomic Blonde (2017) by the way.
