This just in from New York's Comic-Con event, Titan Comics is set to publish a series of Tekken story related comics in 2017. The Tekken related comics are said to tie into the new game as it comes out in early 2017. The creative team behind the newly announced Tekken comics have not been revealed just yet but another announcement on the comics is said to be around the corner. Bandai Namco's Fighting Games Panel at SD-CC 2016

Once again Bandai Namco put together a Fighting Games Panel at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend to have discussions with the fans on their fighting game franchises. For the Tekken side, new Tekken related merchandise were made available to buy including a new $450 'Tekken Sukajan' jacket that has reversible sides with distinct artwork. For Soul Calibur, this was merely a discussion with the fans so I hope you didn't expect some crazy new announcements (haha.) N8nmonster and Chindogg on Twitter were there in the crowd and covered most of the things at the panel so I'll be rounding their tweets together for everyone not at SD-CC. If you're interested in the new Tekken Jacket, pre-orders are now available on the Bandai Namco online store:

Tekken 7 & SoulCalibur 20th Anniversary at San Diego Comic-Con

While EVO 2016 is almost upon us this week, San Diego Comic-Con will be a few days after featuring a return of the Bandai Namco Fighting Games panel. Tekken's Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray are once again expected to be in attendance with Markman acting as panel moderator for the session this year. "Special Guests" is teased for the panel meaning we may also see someone new on the panel alongside Harada and Murray (jbstyle was on last year's SD-CC.) As mentioned on the schedule, you can expect new updates on Tekken 7 as well as upcoming TEKKEN merchandise during SD-CC 2016. A surprising addition to this session is a special discussion on the 20th anniversary of SoulCalibur games. It's been awhile since we've heard from the series and this may finally signal something new incoming after all the previous 'Long Live SOULCALIBUR' teasing. Who knows what that might entail but the panel will not be one to miss for those who can make it out and attend. Bandai Namco's Fighting Games Panel 2016 is taking place in San Diego Comic-Con on July 22nd (Friday) at 1:00 PM

Tekken 7 - Bandai Namco Entertainment Fighting Game Panel 2015

UPDATE: Added further panel images from Famitsu! Includes more character artwork from Tekken 7 including a live art demonstration by Jbstyle.

Just to get this out of the way - there wasn't much substantial news in terms of Tekken 7 revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. What was shown however is something you might appreciate should you be a fan of the artwork that comes from special guest artist collaborations with the Tekken series. The Bandai Namco Fighting game panel at San Diego Comic-Con has Tekken Project team figures like Harada and Michael Murray on it but this time there's also guest artist jbstyle participating who you may know as the artist who designed the Devil Asuka and Lili / Eliza T-shirts given out to players at EVO 2014 & 2015. Artwork of the Tekken 7 characters done by Jbstyle, Shunya Yamashita, Tomio Fujisawa and Junny were shown off so I'm assuming this is hinting at the return of the character artwork switching in Tekken 7 that was available in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. All the images from this year's panel are courtesy of @cool_trainer.

The official Comic Con website has updated its page to mention that Harada and a special guest will be present to talk about the artwork in Tekken 7. MarkMan will also be a part of the panel that will be an hour long. Rise of Incarnates will also be covered at this panel. With this event being a week exactly before EVO don't expect any new info about the game until the week after for the tournament.
