Tekken 7 Adds Character Pixel Art as Player Icons & Teases Secret Character

Tekken 7 recently updated to include the newest time release character Yoshimitsu but it's also adding another small little detail to the game. Available on Tekken-net starting today are a series of small Tekken character pixel art which you can have show up on screen during a Tekken 7 match under your Player portrait and DAN rank just as a small quirky detail. The amount of characters you can pick are small for now but more character pixel art is being added in weekly on Tuesdays starting with Heihachi then moving onto other characters like Gigas, Leo and Shaheen (which are available on the 2nd of June.) A more interesting piece of info regarding this announcement is that there is a small Tekken 7 'secret' character pixel art being teased, you can actually see it in the banner above on the top left. Anyone have an idea on who it might be?! I've added some more complementary images on this below to give you some ideas!

Players will receive the 'secret' character Pixel art in Tekken 7 on the 12th of June if they have at least 20 other character Pixel art until then.

Tekken 7 - Over an Hour of Furumizu Footage from the Oslo Batting Center

There's currently plenty of sources to look for when it comes to direct feed footage of Tekken 7 - Multiple arcades in Japan like Guntama's Miracle In arcade, Gao's Game Plaza, Akihabara's Leisure Land and also Knee's Tekken 7 stream from the KMBOX branch in South Korea. The Oslo's Batting Centre which is in Tokyo's Tachikawa region looks to join this list since there's now been efforts to record matches from there. Just to give some background on the place, it's primarily a place to take rounds batting in a steel cage but it also houses multiple Tekken 7 cabs for people to play. This place is more well known for players like Deku (Ryo), Mister, Furumizu and more going in there to take advantage of the cheaper game credits per Yen in the place (It's 50 yen per game in here as opposed to the usual 100 yen.) The first recorded piece of recorded T7 footage from the batting center is Furumizu (Paul) doing online matches against a high ranked Law and Feng player. If there's more footage to come out of this place, you can find them all on the masatoshi1102 YouTube channel.

The Making Of Tekken with Yutaka Kounoe

Awhile back, I managed to get my hands on a transcription of the 'Making of Tekken' Interview in the #104 issue of Retro Gamer Magazine with Yutaka Kounoe but for some reason or another I eventually ended up forgetting to share it with everyone. There's a lot of development background information that is especially interesting for anyone that is curious on the development of the early Tekken games so I feel like this is great to put out there. This interview goes in depth with a game developer who did work on the first 3 Tekken games while he was working in what he considered to be 'Namco's golden era.' Yutaka Kounoe currently no longer works at Namco and has since moved on to found his own indie game development company: O-Games. This interview was published around June, 2012 so it's been awhile from now.
